Utilizing Korean Media

The G.O.A.'L Birth Family Search (BFS) Department currently works with several Korean TV stations including: KBSYTN International News Channel and National Parliament TV (국회방송) on a regular basis to assist adoptees in BFS.  In addition, we maintain contact with all other TV stations (SBS, MBC, etc.), radio stations, newspapers (파이낸셜뉴스 - 'Financial News') and other publications such as Guideposts (Korean publication similar to Reader's Digest).  We can publish ads in newspapers and often have other possibilities depending on the individual situation.

G.O.A.'L has been working together with KBS since 1998 and on a regular basis for the past seven (7) years.  Previously, many adoptees went on the program "Achim Madang (아침 마당)" to search for their families.  Since early 2007, "Achim Madang (아침 마당)" changed its program format, and thereafter, G.O.A.'L has been cooperating with
KBS "I Miss that Person" (그 사람이 보고싶다) to provide adoptees with family search assistance.

G.O.A.'L has partnered with
YTN International News Channel (also viewable at www.KOREAN.net) since 2005 to assist adoptees in birth family search through a special program called "Global Korean - Adoptee Image Letter."  YTN has a special news program called "Global Korean (글러발 코리안)" on which news stories featuring adoptees are often covered in addition to the videos of adoptees pursuing family search.

For adoptees visiting / living in Korea
1)  Adoptees may have the opportunity to utilize
KBS (그 사람이 보고싶다) to aid their family search efforts.  If you would like to appear live in-studio, you will be expected to do at least two tapings (pre-interview & actual program).
2) Another option open to adoptees is a taping of a short video aired via the news through
YTN International News Channel.  Click on the link to see samples of videos.
3) Adoptees also have the chance to have their story published in print via Guideposts Magazine and Financial News Newspaper (click here for a sample).
4) From time to time, special programs or documentaries by various stations are planned.  When the media contacts G.O.A.'L for such programs, we will contact any adoptee pursuing search that fits the requirements to inquire if s/he might be interested in participating.

For adoptees living outside of Korea
1) Adoptees may have the opportunity to utilize
KBS (그 사람이 보고싶다) to aid their family search efforts by participating live via webcam.  A/V, software and internet connection requirements apply, as well as being able to participate live during the actual taping hours & do a pre-interview taping (Korea time).
2) From time to time, special programs or documentaries by various stations are planned.  When the media contacts G.O.A.'L for such programs, we will contact any adoptee pursuing search that fits the requirements to inquire if s/he might be interested in participating, or contact the local adoptee association in the particular state/country where the taping is planned.
