Leadership change announcement

To Our Fellow Adoptee Community:

Due to recent changes in leadership G.O.A.'L has decided to keep the Secretary General position vacant in order to adequately fill the position following an official hiring process. For the remainder of the year, a committee of our current adoptee staff will lead G.O.A.’L: Ms. Jessica Boling (USA), Mr. John Compton (Korea/USA), Mr. Jes Eriksen (Denmark) and Mr. Félix Kong (Korea/France).

Ms. Jessica Boling, who has a background in Social Work and non-profit, will serve as Vice Secretary General during our transition. She will function as a point person to the public. She has been volunteering at G.O.A.’L since 2011.
In addition, Ms. Hoya Lee will continue being a part of the staff part time as an Internal Advisor and Ms. Jooyeon Baek will assist our Birth Family Search Department. Their talent and commitment is a valuable asset to our team at G.O.A.'L.

Our up to date staff information is listed below and can be found on our website.

We will announce the dates of First Trip Home and the details of our programs for this year at the end of this week. Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to growing together as a community.

Thank you from the Secretary General

Thank you from the Secretary General

Dear G.O.A.’L. Family and Friends,

I hope this message finds you well. I want to begin by saying thank you to all our members and supporters who have made G.O.A.’L. such a unique and meaningful organization in our international Korean adoptee community. Five months ago I had the opportunity to take on the role as the Secretary General and since then I learned more about the adoption community, non-profit organizations and the importance of addressing the needs of post-adoption services and resources.

One of the responsibilities as the Secretary General is seeking opportunities for more organizational growth and development. Important part of that is being able to dedicate even greater amount of attention, energy, and time. With those considerations and my family needs in mind and believing that GOAL is headed in the right direction, effective immediately, as of May 11th, I am choosing to step down from the Secretary General position.

I want to thank our staff and volunteers. It’s great to see people come to work and volunteer with bright smiles on their faces. It’s an honor to have worked with them. I will continue to be part of G.O.A.’L. and will find ways to contribute in the future. It’s been an unforgettable experience.

Please continue to support G.O.A.’L. as it further redevelops its foundation and continues it’s role as the pioneer in addressing the changing needs of our community.

Thank you and I wish you and your loved ones the best.

Sincerely,
Colin Cho
